The meeting to which fair stand designers were invited by SSTD (The Association of Exhibition and Stand Designers) was held in Yapı Endüstri Merkezi. At the meeting in which most of the stand design companies attended the current issues were discussed, the common problems were handled. At the session moderated by the member of board management of SSTD Sinan Meriç SSTD Chairman Cüneyt IŞINGÖR, SSTD members of board and management Kemalettin SOLMAZ and Meriç YILDIRIM participated as speakers.

The Chairman Cüneyt IŞINGÖR who began to speak for the first said that the association was founded in 2008 and they performed many activities regarding issues of the sector. IŞINGÖR stating that they wanted to accompany with the firms sought to execute this properly in the global norms, invited all representatives of the sector adopting modern criteria to be gathered under the roof of the association.

SSTD Member of Board of Management Kemalettin SOLMAZ spoke as the second stated that new standards were tried to be brought by the fair organizations and field managements with the influence of the current laws of occupational health and said that all companies active in the sector would be institutionalized to be ready for the process. SOLMAZ continued his speech as follows; “We stand by and support all kinds of applications offering service to occupational health and prepared by focusing on humans. However, some of these steps taken for this in the last period involve unfair issues disturbing the representatives of the sector. In order to correct these faults many of our colleagues stated that we had to produce a common idea regarding these issues.” Kemalettin SOLMAZ stating that the sector had many problems also told that the quality increased due to destructive competition and some of the companies had difficulty in continue their existences although they worked more than the normal. SOLMAZ stating that he believed many of the problems primarily competition would be solved more easily providing that there was union and cooperation also indicated that they wanted to gather the whole sector under the roof of the association with the amendments to be performed in the legislation.

Meriç YILDIRIM held the floor as the last speaker mentioned about the applications of fair stand sector in Europe and World. YILDIRIM stating that our fair organization was behind the Europe in terms of infrastructure and indicated that some of the applications incurred cost for the decorator companies in Turkey had no equivalent in the world and requested for support to the works carried out by the association.

The representative of the invitee companies held the floor after the recess, they stated the pleasure they felt as the picture of unity and solidarity which they sought to see for a long time is provided. While the protection of the rights of design, the faults in the accreditation applications required to be applied and unfair competition were the discussed mainly by the participants, most of the invitees who were not members performed pre-application by getting information about membership criteria of the association. Also, the consensus was reached regarding it would be the right way to authorize a team to be assigned by the association to negotiate with the authorities about current accreditation applications.
